The South Carolina Campaign to Prevent Teen Pregnancy is seeking an energetic and experienced Front Desk Receptionist/Assistant with the ability to multitask and work well in a busy environment. The ideal candidate will provide a positive, professional reception by greeting guests who call or visit our office. This position will also manage a multi-purpose database and mailing system, prepare correspondence and presentations, separate and distribute incoming correspondence, and perform other office support functions as assigned. The Front Desk Receptionist/ Assistant will also coordinate the use of the Campaign’s common areas including Board and training rooms for internal meetings and for outside groups; and serve as the primary contact for interns/volunteers.

During its 2008 Summer Institute, the SC Campaign to Prevent Teen Pregnancy (SC Campaign) announced Michelle Thomas Nimmons as the first recipient of the Murray L. Vincent Outstanding Prevention Professional Award. Given in honor of the late Dr. Murray Vincent, the award is the highest and most distinguished honor given by the SC Campaign. The annual award recognizes an individual who has significantly impacted the prevention of adolescent pregnancy in South Carolina while exemplifying the characteristics of the award’s namesake.

The 2008 edition of Child Trends' annual Facts at a Glance contains the latest national and state-level data on teen birth rates as well as data on the percentage of teens in grades 9-12 who abstain from sex or use contraception. Among the findings:
The report, which is based primarily on Child Trends' analyses of data from the National Center for Health Statistics, also includes teen birth data for large cities.
